Best Accessories for Fall

best accessories for fall

grosgrain ribbon bow Nordstrom

I am not much of an accessories kind of girl. I typically only do hats and sunglasses. I rarely wear jewelry, belts, scarves, or pins. It is not that I don’t like accessories, I am just usually too lazy to deal with a lot of moving parts. That was until I saw this adorable striped grosgrain pin/hair bow at Nordstrom.

This bow/pin caught my eye from across the accessories department. It looked very Gucci and I knew I had the perfect red beret and green jacket to wear with it. These days, I will take any excuse to wear a beret.

I purchased this crepe moto jacket last spring on major sale (good news, it is still on sale and has been released this fall in black). If you are short, the cropped proportion of a moto jacket is your friend. I loved that this one was done in a drapey crepe that looked very sleek and modern. I wear moto jackets like suit jackets or blazers for work. They are still professional, but much “hipper.”

In terms of accessories this fall, it seems to be all about hats and hair accessories. From turbans, to berets, to bows, you are going to want to take a play out of Blair Waldorf’s playbook this fall. Can we also bring back Blair’s colored tights? Asking for a friend!

In other news, did you notice something different about the blog today? Yep, I finally took the plunge and launched HistoryinHighHeels.com (through WordPress). I will be honest, migrating from Blogger was a complicated and frustrating 8-hour process (that I am still working on!), but I had put this off for far too long. I have actually owned my domain for months now. Bear with me as I continue to update the site (not all of my images transferred) and personalize it. But, do let me know what you think and what you might like to see more of!
