I have clear, indisputable proof that throwing a coin into the Trevi Fountain and wishing to return to Rome works. I have been doing it for over ten years, and each summer I am fortunate enough to return to my favorite eternal city! You cannot ague with science!

Every time  I visit Rome I make it a point to throw at least one coin into the fountain. Plus, all of the coins are donated to the Italian Red Cross. It is a win, win really.

Allie and I woke up bright and early to catch a glimpse of Rome’s most famous fountain without the hoards of tourists. We arrived at 5:45 to find that there were people already there! Clearly, we weren’t the only dedicated ‘grammers. I hate to break it to you, but if you want a good pic of the Trevi Fountain, you are going to have to arrive before 6:30 am!

I wore this gorgeous pink mosaic patterned dress, which looked so whimsical against the massive white marble. Allie used to work for Kate Spade and always keeps me informed on the latest arrivals and what she thinks I would like. She was kind enough to bring me a couple new pieces to wear around Rome since she knew I had been living out of one suitcase all summer. Like my other favorite Kate Spade dress (seen here), this dress is super feminine and has a universally-flattering fit and flare cut. It is also light weight and flowy, both equally important in the summer in Rome.

After our photo session at the Trevi, we did what we do best in Rome, we grabbed coffee and some pastries and just wandered the city.
