As I mentioned earlier this week on Instagram, I have suddenly gotten really into maxi dresses. I seem to be really drawn to them when shopping and they are the first thing I pull to wear when I want to be comfortable but still stylish.
I used avoid maxi dresses like the plague. I was convinced that I couldn’t pull them off. Honestly, I have no idea why or when my mind changed. Maybe it was this gorgeous red maxi I wore in Venice. I remember thinking that it was so comfy but still really flattering in photos and in person. Whenever it happened I can now officially say that I am on the maxi dress train.
I do think short girls still need to be selective when it comes to maxi dresses. It is a lot of fabric and can easily overwhelm you. I like to stick to v-necks to offset the heaviness of the long skirt. I think it’s the v-neck plus the skirt length that elongates shorter frames. But the best part of the maxi dress? Not having to shave your legs lol.
