The start of a new year is always a good time to reflect on your style and closet. I like to take stock of what items I really enjoyed and wore over and over again throughout the year. Each year a handful of items will always stand out. Some of these are the same items year after year (like my Gucci hat and Stuart Weitzman boots), while others are new discoveries. This is also the perfect time of year to invest in expensive wardrobe staples. With holiday money and end of year sales, you can really score some great deals. With that in mind, I though I would round up some of my all-time best wardrobe investment items, many of which are currently on sale!
Lele Sadoughi Pearl Headband – You know I love a good headband and I am pretty sure I wear this headband at least three times a week! The quality construction and comfort of this headband make it a worth-while investment (plus it means you can skip doing your hair!).
Gucci Sun Hat – This hat makes the list every year. It is one of the best investments I have ever made. It elevates any summer/vacation look and is so well constructed that after countless countries and trips, it still looks great!
Cuyana Trench – I purchased this trench last spring. I love the durable material and sleek simple cut. The perfect nude color goes with everything and it is perfect for travel.
Veronica Beard Blazers – I have been gushing over VB blazers for a while now. I basically only purchase VB blazers now. The cut and quality are unrivaled (please note that if you have a larger chest you will need to size up). The good news is that they do go on sale and you can usually score a pretty good deal. These will never be cheap, but they are completely worth it! The Empire blazer is my favorite cut, but I also love the Miller.
Club Monaco Camel Coat – THIS COAT! Even though I own way too many cute coats, I find myself reaching for this one over and over again. It’s the perfect camel color and is remarkably flattering for a long wool coat. Finding a coat that is both stylish and functional (read: warm) can be challenging, but this coat is definitely both. And right now it is on major sale!
Sarah Flint Perfect Zip Bootie – Another item I am constantly gushing about. But this booties are EVERYTHING! They are seriously the most comfortable shoes I own. I can walk 5 plus miles a day in them and still look stylish. I love the gold zipper detail and low heel.
Stuart Weitzman 50/50 Boots – I have had these for years and continue to love them. Over the knee boots are a great way to add warmth in the winter without sacrificing style. Plus they make your legs look super long when paired with skinny denim or a wool mini skirt. Despite being suede, mine have held up and worn very well.
Realisation Leopard Skirt – This is the skirt that made me fall in love with silk midi skirts. This is the OG from Paris that started the current trend. It comes in the perfect leopard pattern and has an easy to wear but sultry shape.
Tumi Leather Backpack – When I moved to DC and started commuting to work on foot, I quickly realized that I needed a backpack to save my shoulders and back. But I wanted something that still looked professional and not like I was headed to school. This Tumi backpack is perfect, so stylish and functional, and I receive compliments on it daily.
