Traveling in Caroline Constas

Caroline Constas is a designer that has been on my radar for a couple of years now. I originally fell in love with her “Bardot dress” a few summers ago (here it is on Allie in the cutest polka dot version). Caroline’s designs are known for their dramatic volume and interesting shapes, which means they tend to make a statement. I have always wondered how she manages to play with shape and volume, but still produce such flattering silhouettes?

Case in point – this dress. By all accounts this should look like a tent on me. But somehow this dress is still cute despite its voluminous, tent-like shape. Magic, am I right? Volume and natural fabrics are always good ideas when it comes to walking around Rome on a hot summer day. This dress was so comfy and airy, I barely noticed it was 95 degrees. Just kidding, I totally noticed, but it could have been way worse!

Allie and I snapped these pics on our second morning in Rome. And yes, we shot these around 5:30! But as you can see, totally worth it. The ledge where we took the bulk of these photos is marked on my Google map of all my favorite photo spots in Rome here.
