I wouldn’t say summer is the ideal time to visit Charleston. I particularly love the city in the spring. But I also never pass on an excuse to visit one of my favorite cities. It just so happened that Emily was presenting at a blogging conference held in Charleston and the Belmond Charleston Place invited us to stay with them after the conference was over. Like I said, I don’t say no to Charleston, and I definitely don’t say know to the Belmond!
The Belmond Charleston Place is one of my favorite places to stay in Charleston. It could not be more centrally located and has tons of amazing amenities, especially if you are staying on the club level (which we did and loved!). We were really living our best lives on that club level — delicious and huge breakfast buffet, complementary wine and champagne (they even put it in a plastic cup when you wanted to head to the pool), afternoon tea with cream and scones, evening appetizers, and various snacks and drinks all day! In addition to the club level, the hotel also has a rooftop pool, amazing spa, luxury onsite shopping, and restaurants.
When not stuffing our faces at the Belmond, we braved the heat to try some new restaurants in Charleston. We had brunch at Cannon Green, which was delicious and super fun with their live DJ, and tacos at the new Mexican eatery, Minero. It is by the same people who do Husk (one of my all-time favs) so we knew it would be amazing, and guess what, it was! I had one of the best veggie burritos of my life!
I’ll be honest, thanks to the intense summer heat and our posh digs at the Belmond, we did not leave the hotel and explore as much as we normally do. But it was so nice to relax and be pampered. We did venture out to the Magnolia Plantation and Gardens our last afternoon. The gardens were stunning, but the heat was intense and we only lasted about an hour lol.
Next, time you’re in Charleston, be sure to check out the Belmond, it makes the perfect getaway and you will not be disappointed!
